Laugharne Corporation, established in 1291, is the last surviving medieval corporation in the UK. It is made up of the Portreeve and a jury of 20 burgesses, who are ‘freemen’ of the town. Burgess is a spacious double room and overlooks the famous Corran bookshop on King St as well as The Manse and The Pelican – a former Georgian pub where Dylan Thomas’ parents lived.
